"ALL IN THE FAMILY"
Becoming an older and a little wiser cub, early on I learned these key for me life lessons:
° FAMILY 1ST
As Lito and Lita always altruistically did, take care of your immediate family when they need help.
They forsook buying waterfront property in Lake Tahoe in 1957 that would be worth tens of millions today, just to take care of my Mom, Tappy and myself.
To express my truth versus acquiescing to what I did not want, to gain my father’s and other's approval.
° LIMITATIONS AWARENESS
Accepting that I would never be the Eagle Scout that I dreamed of achieving.
Being thankful for all of the sacrifices my grandparents and my Mom made to provide a better life for me.
° NEVER BLAME GOD!
To understand that many, many times blessings are wrapped in obstacles and that graced with the ultimate gift of free will, we are responsible for ALL of our own thoughts, words and deeds ~ not God.
° LETTING GO + LETTING GOD
Not being allowed to take my comics and baseball cards when we moved from San Francisco to Daly City ~ that would be worth a fortune today, I pleaded and pleaded and my parents would not relent.
Blessed that we were moving to a brand new home, I looked forward and not backwards, allowing His Divine will to reign.
° TO CONTROL MY MIND
Instead of “hurrying up” and "be a good boy" like Lita constantly insisted, I have learned to control my mind so much so that I can go totally blank and life streams in slow motion.
And also as important ~ I am totally present with myself and my task, focusing laser-like until it is completed.
Sometimes so ~ that I feel like my feet do not touch the ground.
Pray to The Holy Spirit constantly and simply from your heart, just as earnestly as He was your very best friend.
+ through Divine Intimacy ~ He IS!
