"WHITE WEDDING DAY"
Even though Lita and Lito did their very best to be cordial to my father, it was heartwarming for me to see my mother and him dancing as if they had never been apart.
My Mom as beautiful as she was as Miss Costa Rica 1942, literally sparkled in her seafoam green chiffon dress.
And my father very handsome in his Frank Sinatra-like black tuxedo, instilled in me hope that someday, just maybe someday ~ the impossible dream of their reconciliation could still come true.
After changing from our wedding apparel and saying our goodbyes, we headed to the Fairmont Hotel for our “honeymoon” overnight before departing for Laguna Beach the following morning.
2 x 2 our “closest” friends started arriving, until our entire suite was over-flowing into the hallway.
Thank God, that Sandy’s uncle Rocky ~ a San Francisco Police Department detective, was on duty that night in his part-time role as the Fairmont’s head of security.
The entire floor stinking like weed, Rocky did his best to look the other way.
But when guests right above us kept calling the front desk and complaining about our super loud music that we would turn down for two minutes and then someone would crank up again, the final straw was when somebody started throwing up out of the window and almost hit some old folks returning from the opera.
Sandy loved Laguna Beach’s eclectic atmosphere, our melting glass "power" margaritas and embraced Billy Idol's idea that “it was a nice day to start again”……………
Pray to The Holy Spirit constantly and simply from your heart, just as earnestly as He was your very best friend.
