Saint Paul ~ also known by his Hebrew name "Saul of Tarsus", is upheld as one of the very most important figures of the New Testament ~ writing 70% of it.
From the mid-30s to the mid-50s A.D. he founded several Christian communities in Asia Minor and Europe.
According to The New Testament book know as The Acts of the Apostles (Acts), Paul persecuted and murdered some of the early disciples of Christ Yeshua; possibly Hellenized diaspora Jews converted to Christianity in the area of Jerusalem prior to his conversion.
In the narrative of Acts, Paul was traveling on the road from Jerusalem to Damascus on a mission to arrest these new Christians and bring them back to Jerusalem for shameful and damning public crucifixion, when suddenly the Ascended Jesus appeared to him in an atomic flash of light.
Paul was struck completely blind by Yeshua's incalculable infinite energy, but after three days his sight was restored and Paul began to preach that Yeshua of Nazareth IS the Jewish Messiah and most importantly ~ IS the Son of God.
Thirteen of the twenty-seven books in the New Testament have traditionally been attributed to Paul. Similarly an impenitent sinner like King David, Paul was eternally forgiven by Yeshua ~ a perfect example to all of us of His unconditional love and mercy.
And just like Paul, we are ALL worthy and very much needed to espouse The Word to our sisters & brothers around the world.
We must choose to purify and become disciples of The Truth.
Today, Paul's epistles continue to be vital roots of the theology, worship and pastoral life in the Latin and Protestant traditions; as well as the Eastern Catholic and Orthodox traditions of the East.
Paul's influence on Christian thought and practice has been characterized as being as "profound as it is pervasive", among that of many other apostles and missionaries involved in the spread of Yeshua's teachings.
St. Paul's purification through the purposeful apparition of Yeshua commenced the initial process of making him spiritually clean. His 3 days of blindness expanded and completed the purification of his mind and body through reflection, contemplation and repentance.
Purification of our souls & minds with the assistance of Ruach Hakodesh is the most important spiritual process we can undertake to become 1 with The ONLY 1.
Just like a gold smith must refine the precious metal with fire over and over and over to cleanse it of all impurities, so must we covenant a purification transaction and choose through our free wills to be released of all worldly and egoic bondage and finally become eternally FREE.
Forthcoming is my adaption of St Paul's Prayer that my wife Christine and I passionately recite daily, focusing on the most relative and current transgressions that we need Abba Yahweh's help on, to become totally purified and live etherically in His image and likeness of Eternal, Joyful, Powerful and Unconditional Love:
