The 1st book to really, really impact my current soul/mind-set after reading so many tomes trying to find God due to my dissatisfaction with the Roman Catholic Church, The Celestine Prophecy describes a true spiritual experience.

When we laser focus on these experiences of spirituality, instead of abstract questions whether to “believe” or not, we become awakened to a higher state of consciousness.

Written by James Redfield in 1993, his intention was to do what Jesus did, share a parable ~ a story meant to illustrate a point and teach a lesson.

James’s text discusses various psychological and spiritual ideas that are rooted in many ancient Eastern traditions, such as how opening to new possibilities can help an individual establish a direct connection with God.

The main character ~ never named, narrates a journey undertaken to find himself and understand a series of nine spiritual insights in an ancient manuscript found in post Inca Peru.

The book is a first-person narrative of spiritual awakening. The narrator is in a transitional period of his life and begins to notice instances of synchronicity which is the belief that “coincidences” have a meaning personal to those who experience them.

The narrator explains how the world pre-1993 was undergoing an enormous shift in consciousness, elaborating on how things had been generally understood (until now) to be:

° In the beginning, people believed the world to be governed by the forces of divinity; everything could be explained as an act of a god or gods.

° With increasing knowledge of the world brought about by scientific inquiry, people turned to the men and women of science for an explanation of life and their world.

° Since the problem of how to find meaning in the world could not be solved by science, people narcissistically chose to instead focus on efforts to improve their lives materially, subduing and plundering the earth for its natural resources, with a hyper-emphasis on controlling economic conditions, the "useless eaters" and market fluctuations.

What was occurring pre-1993 explained the narrator, was that the baseness of the then current conditions had begun to infect their souls as well.

We had become restless and desperate, primed for another fundamental shift in consciousness so as to bring about the creation of a new, better world.

Yeshua’s ~ not the New World Order’s!

Still so very, very relevant in today's times, I highly recommend the Celestine Prophecy to all of my fellow sisters and brothers that want to enhance their personal spirituality via a highly engaging adventure story.
